The Green Cafe

Fort Worth, Texas
Serving Plant-Based Foods Since 1982

OUR MISSION

The Green Cafe exists to make plant-based food accessible, satisfying, and rooted in community. Since 1982, our mission has been to serve wholesome, scratch-made meals that nourish the body, support local growers, and reduce environmental impact — without compromising flavor.

We believe food should be honest, inclusive, and sustainable. Every dish reflects our commitment to clean ingredients, ethical sourcing, and long-standing community values.

ABOUT US

Founded in 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, The Green Cafe began as a small neighborhood eatery serving vegetarian comfort food to a growing health-conscious community. Over four decades later, we remain locally owned and independently operated, with a loyal customer base spanning multiple generations.

What started as a 12-table cafĂ© has grown into a full-service plant-based restaurant offering dine-in, takeout, catering, and seasonal specials. We partner with Texas farms for fresh produce, prioritize organic ingredients whenever possible, and prepare nearly everything in-house — from sauces and dressings to baked goods and desserts.

Our atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and community-driven. Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, or simply curious, The Green Cafe offers approachable plant-based dining in the heart of Fort Worth.
